Do you want to learn more about Bonaire’s history and culture? Then step into our air-conditioned bus with a native tour guide and explore the great scenery and history of Bonaire! From your hotel or cruise ship, we will first drive through Bonaire's historic and colorful center; the Kaya Grandi.
Our first stop will be at 1000 steps where you can walk around and take some pictures of the beautiful scenery of the clear blue ocean and possibly some turtle (no worries, there are actually just 63 steps to...). After that, we will be driving by the Flamingo Sanctuary where you will be able to see beautiful pink flamingo's. Rincon, our fourth stop, is the island's oldest town. Originally settled by the Spanish in the early 1500’s, Rincon was strategically nestled within a valley to ward off impending danger from pirates and other threats. Slaves were brought to Bonaire and worked tending crops and in the salt pans. Slaves lived in Rincon with families and walked to the salt pans in the south to work, and stayed there for the work week. Driving near the North East side of the island, we will see splashing waves hitting the clifts on the coastline and donkeys walking around until we reach the downtown.
After the final stop, you will be dropped off at your hotel or cruise ship.
You will receive a booking voucher (after the booking is made) with detailed specifications how to get to the activity provider.
